The Brain-1 is an open, modular ARM + FPGA development platform featuring the new SYZYGY standard for high-performance peripherals and Xilinx Zynq FPGA. With integrated SDRAM, high-efficiency power supplies, ethernet interface, USB 2.0 host port and four SYZYGY Compatible peripheral connectors, the Brain-1 is an excellent choice for system prototyping and integration.
SYZYGY Connectivity
The Brain-1 is a launch platform for Opal Kelly’s SYZYGY open standard for high performance FPGA peripheral connectivity. SYZYGY fills the need for interconnectivity between Digilent™ Pmod and VITA 57.1 FMC that accommodates high performance peripherals. The Brain-1 is the first realization of a carrier board supporting SYZYGY.
4x SYZYGY PORTS
3x SYZYGY standard ports and 1x SYZYGY transceiver port with two SmartVIO groups.
1 GiB DDR3
Integrated 1-GiByte DDR3 provides loads of high-speed on-board memory for high-performance applications, including image capture and data acquisition.
HIGH-EFFICIENCY POWER SUPPLIES
High-efficiency switching power supplies provide stable, dependable power to the FPGA and SYZYGY peripherals.
ETHERNET
The Zynq processor can run Linux with wired Gigabit ethernet or WiFi (with USB dongle) internet access.
