The Opal Kelly XEM5010 is an FPGA development board based on a XC5VLX50 Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA. In addition to a high gate-count, high-performance FPGA, the XEM5010 utilizes the high transfer rate of USB 2.0 for configuration downloads, enabling an almost instant reprogramming of the FPGA.

Two completely independent 128-MByte DDR2 SDRAMs are great for high-performance applications where separate memory busses are required. Total memory bandwidth is 2.128-GB/s or 17.024-Gb/s.

36 Mb SYNCHRONOUS SRAM

A wide-bus (36-bit), 1Mx36 SSRAM is directly connected to the FPGA for high-speed, synchronous, static storage.

32 Mb SPI SERIAL FLASH

An 32-Mbit SPI Serial Flash device is included for non-volatile storage of both FPGA configuration and post-configuration data.
